Dieses Wochenende war gefüllt mit guten Filmen - zwei davon möchte ich näher vorstellen.
Penelope - eine Geschichte über ein Mädchen, das mit einem Fluch belegt ist - welcher nur gebrochen werden kann, wenn jemand von gleichem Blut sie lieben & heiraten kann. Klingt jetzt erstmal wie Kitsch, ist aber viel zu außergewöhnlich dafür. Außerdem bin ich ein Fan von Christina Ricci - und James McAvoy ist einfach Zucker. Ach, und ich will den Schal von Penelope.
The Fall - wenn ich jetzt sage: der Hauptdarsteller ist Lee Pace, dann folgt jetzt bestimmt ein Kopfkratzen. Dann aber: Pushing Daisies, der süße Kuchenbäcker? Na, klingelt's? Der Film hat aber neben dem Hauptdarsteller auch noch vieles anderes zu bieten. Neben der wunderschönen Handlung eine tolle Kulisse (aus 16 Ländern) und atemberaubenden Gewändern. Erzählt wird die Geschichte von einem Mann, der sich mit einem Märchen den Tod erkaufen will. Traurig, schön.
This weekend was filled with good films - two of them I'd like to introduce to you.
Penelope - the tale of a cursed girl who can only be saved by the true love from someone of her own blood. Sounds cheesy, still it is too extra-ordinary a story to be cheesy. On top of that I simply adore Christina Ricci - and James McAvoy is sugar. By the way, I want that Penelope scarf!
The Fall - I don't think a lot people can tell who is Lee Pace. But when I tell you: Pushing Daisies, owner of the pie hole - aahh! Besides the cute main character the film has a lot more to offer. A beautiful plot, wunderful scenery & breath taking costumes. It's the story about a man who pays his own death with a touching fairy tale. Sad, yet beautiful.
